We need friends and we need help
Cohorts allow you to be grouped together with other pastors from similar ministry settings. Our cohorts are two-year mentoring experiences designed for Lead Pastors led by Ben Cachiaras. The cohort consists of a small, close-knit group that meets in person for retreats twice a year for a total of four in-person retreats, each lasting three days. Cohorts become extremely tight, choosing to communicate almost weekly with each other.
Retreat content is led by Ben and some of his ministry colleagues, followed by deep-dive discussions and group sharing as cohort members help and support each other.
The cohort experience is about personal discipleship AND church leadership, not one or the other. The group shapes some of the direction, but we dive into preaching, staff leadership, building a strong & healthy elder team, work-life balance, creating healthy culture, leading campaigns, and staying alive to God in your personal life. Cohorts may cover multi-site strategies, vision, helping your church move through growth barriers and change, as well as how to navigate cultural issues like ministry to LGBTQ and transgender people, race and ethnicity, and politics.
The cohort cost covers meals and accommodations, and a modest stipend for speakers and guests, with participants responsible for their own transportation.
In addition to in-person meetings, participants stay connected frequently through texts, emails, and Zoom. Resources and teaching content is shared via a collaborative Google Doc.
This journey fosters a unique camaraderie, offering support, wisdom, and laughter, with many participants finding it an invaluable lifeline for both personal and professional growth. We want to grow as leaders, preachers, pastors, spouses, parents and disciples of Jesus. To do that we need friends and we need help.
